"THE GREAT DIVAS OF GOSPEL" COMES TO SUGAR HILL
For the first time ever, the historical show, "THE GREAT DIVAS OF GOSPEL," will be at Brooklyn's Sugar Hill Supper Club, located at 609 Dekalb Avenue, at Nostrand Avenue. This outstanding musical salutes the female pioneers of Gospel music such as: The Clara Ward Singers, The Sallie Martin Singers, The Famous Davis Sisters, Marion Williams & The Stars of Faith, The Roberta Martin Singers, The Famous Caravans, Dorothy Love Coates & The Harmonettes, and of course, the Queen of Gospel, Mahalia Jackson.
The gifted cast of "THE GREAT DIVAS OF GOSPEL," are celebrating their 16th Anniversary of taking this electrifying show all across the U.S.A. Three of the cast members, Betty Cooks, Debbie Sargeant, and Lady Peachena, the show's playwright, have been with the show since its inception in '93. And they're still fired up, and ready to sing! The newest member Carol Hawthorne, has been with the show for about three years.
"THE GREAT DIVAS OF GOSPEL" is a nostalgic oldie-but-goodie salute to traditional Gospel music that will have you bouncing in your seat, and singing along with some of the greatest hymns that were ever recorded.
